Mrs Winstons - Healthy Salads, Sandwiches and Smoothies

Mrs. Winston's Green Grocery has been voted the best salad bar in Santa Monica and Los Angeles (check out Yelp's reviews), and when you go you'll know why. This health food store and lunch spot boasts high quality produce and are eco-conscious (the salad containers are made form post-consumer plastic bottles). Everyone from vegans, vegetarians and just those who want delicious, organic whole foods will love the large selection of salad bar offerings. Other salad bars can't compete!

I work closeby to the Ocean Park location, so last Wednesday some coworkers and I walked over to Mrs. Winston's for our lunch break. I bought a GT's Kombucha and coveted their amazing salad bar. This week I had a salad with loads of avocado, garbanzo beans, marinated artichoke hearts, some more veggies and roasted chicken. Towards the end of their salad bar they have a large supply of dressings to choose from, and also oils such as olive and flax seed. Many of their pre-made salad options are marked vegan or gluten free, so you don't have to wonder if it's safe. And if there is something you aren't sure about, just ask as all their employees are friendly and helpful.

In addition to the salad bar, they have an amazing build-your-own smoothie bar which not only includes fruits, but other super foods like kale, parsley, beets, ginger etc. They also have a build-your-own sandwich bar with at least 6 different kinds of breads including pita and flatbreads for wraps. Need I say more?

Mrs. Winston's Green Grocery has 2 locations in Santa Monica - one on Ocean Park and 31st and one at The Water Garden Office Plaza off Colorado Blvd. Both have outside eating areas. There is also one in Century City, which I have not visited yet.  Why not go and write a review on Yelp or your blog if you have one?

Grab a salad, sandwich or smoothie and a goodie (might I suggest a gluten free cookie made by the Gluten Free Goddess) and enjoy your lunch outside in the warm Santa Monica (or Los Angeles) sun!
